CA Civil Practice and Procedure

Recommended Posts

Guest Guest

I am an experience paralegal in PA and NJ, and am fully versed in civil practice in procedure for both states, both on a state and federal level. However, I am contemplating a move to CA and would like to know if there is a State Uniform Rule on Civil Practice and Procedure (similar to the system used in NJ), or if State Civil Practice and Procedure is more reminiscent of the PA method of separate procedure dictated by each county in the State?

CA has a Code of Civil Procedure along with Rules of Court that govern practice and procedures. Local courts do have local rules that can impose additional requirements as long as they don't conflict with state law.
