Tip pooling in Missouri

Recommended Posts

I am wondering about tip pooling in restaurants?

The law states that employees need to be told in advance of tip pooling.

What if the employees was not told about tip pooling until after training and no paperwork or notice of tip pooling was ever given or verbal notice when hired.

Plus, the management brings in employees children to roll silverware but not pay them hourly and we are required to include these children in the tip pool as a separate payment by all the servers not the restaurant?

Can someone help me with this and it this legal in any way to not disclose this to trainee prior to employment?

Also, they take out 1.5 in tip credit on over time for servers (6.45$). Are they only allowed to take 4.30$ on overtime and not $6.45?

What law is that? Cite the statute. I haven't found anything that says that.

Besides, if you are told about tip pooling before you get your first tips, that's advance notice, and you have the option of saying no and heading for the door.
