You could be, under a variety of circumstances.

 

Just saying you aren't doesn't necessarily make it so.

 

You could be liable if your negligence cause injury or death or you could be liable if your defective product causes injury or death.

Although you provided almost no relevant facts, the answer is that one person "presenting" another person with an invoice will almost certainly have no impact on either person's liabilities for any injuries or death.
