Dealership Claims We STOLE Their Vehicle

As of two weeks ago we are the proud owners of a 2016 4Runner. The purchase went smoothly but then soon took a turn for the utterly ridiculous in a mere week. 

 

We were contacted by the salesman, financial advisor, and countless others from the dealership all saying we did not pay our down payment. 

 

We knew this had to be a mistake on their end somewhere because we paid our down payment on full and in case the day we left with the vehicle. We also have a written document we’re the down payment, amount that’s being financed, purchase amount, monthly payment, etc was all laid out for us. 

 

We are moreless being harassed by everyone who has access to a phone at their dealership. They’ve told us we need to return the vehicle or their going to report it stolen as well as damage our credit. 

 

Please help us sort out this nonsense.

I'm not really sure what your question is or how you suppose anyone here might "help [you] sort out this nonsense."  Unless you paid the down payment with cash and didn't get a receipt (which would have been a galactically foolish thing to do), all you should need do is provide the dealer with a copy of your paperwork that evidences the payment (e.g., a copy of the check you wrote).
