EACH STATE HAS DIFFERENT RULES BUT THESE RULES ARE GENERALLY REFFERED TO AS RULES OF APPELLATE PROCEDURE. GENERALLY THE APPELLATE COURT WILL ISSUE A DIRECTIVE TO THE LOWER COURT TO FORWARD THE RECORD, OR YOU CAN FILE A MOTION WITH THE APPELLATE COURT REQUESTING THAT THE RECORD BE CERTIFIED AND FILED, OR SIMPLY CONTACT THE COURT REPORTER AND INQUIRE INTO THE STATUS OF THE RECORD
