GETTING OUT OF A HOA

3 posts in this topic

HOA was not part of my closing when I bought into the neighborhood.  It is not a condo or townhouse neighborhood.  All lots and housesare deeded to the owners.I was billed later and subsequent years.  I have paid so as not to be criticized by my neighbors.  Covenants are disregarded and there is an undesirable environment.  Am I allowed to get out of this HOA?

Aside from selling your house and moving, how could we possibly know?  We obviously know nothing about how the HOA was organized and haven't read any of the governing documents.  The only relevant fact you gave us was that the "HOA was not part of [your] closing when [you] bought into the neighborhood."  Does that mean that the HOA came into existence after you bought your home?
