Mom in need of help ASAP

I have one son, His father(non-custodial parten)t gets one weekend a month due to living over 100 miles away. He had his visitation during the weekend before labor day Sept.2nd -Sept 5th.. He contacted me today wanting him again this weekend ... Is he aloud to have him again ?:mellow:

Why wouldn't he be?

 

Perhaps this is more than your divorce decree or custody order expressly entitles him to (and we obviously have no way of knowing what it says beyond what you told us), but so what?  Of course, if you already have plans for this weekend, you can take that into consideration, but isn't it a good thing to foster a strong relationship between your son and his father?

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting! Looks like you've already gotten some direction from our community. If the custody order states that father has one weekend a month, then he is not necessarily entitled to more that that. Meaning, your are not obligated to allow him to have another weekend. However, as other posters have mentioned, you have the right to agree to this change in the custody schedule. It is rather short notice, so if there are already other plans in place, you absolutely have the right to say no. However, as PG mentioned fostering a father-son bond is a positive, and it will give you an opportunity to coparent in a healthy way.
