Paid Time Off

Recommended Posts

I have been on salary for about 3 years. I am made to punch a clock for some reason but that is another matter. Last Thursday I left work at 1 PM like I have been doing for almost 3 years. When I looked at my time card I saw where the Practice Manager had charged me with 4 hours of PTO. I have been leaving at between 1 and 2 pm on Monday and Thursday for about 3 years and this has never been done in the past. Can she just arbitrarily do this without my knowing about it???

Hi @martinb1955

Welcome to the Answers forum! Thanks for your post! Many employers use a punch clock or time-in/time-out system to keep track of hours worked by employees. Is the method used a concern for you? Regarding paid time off, the emphasis for employers should be consistency. The PTO policy should be applied equally between different employees. If a policy changed recently, it is not unreasonable for you to expect your employer to notify you of this. Have you spoken with your supervisor about the PTO issue?
