Defamation

My former employer alleged that I was terminated because of poor performance after I have made my complaint to the Commission on Human Rights.. I could prove that my performance was not poor at all. As a matter of fact, my supervisor told me that I was doing an "excellent job" and my evaluation would not show that my performance was poor. Do I have a valid case of defamation against my former employer or against their counsel or against the specific individual?
