Notary Question

Recommended Posts

If a document was signed and notarized on a specific date and the notary's commission was current at that time but now that notary's commission has expired and the document was not yet filed with the courts do I need to get it re-notarized before submitting to the courts?

Not likely, but it obviously will depend on the type of document and the laws of the state where the court is located (or on federal law if it is a federal court, but I don't know of any federal law that imposes such a requirement for any document).
