State Law regarding complaints

Has there ever been a Florida law that says a complaint cannot include the amount of damages sought, absent some special showing? I heard that because the alleged amounts in complaints are often unreliable or excessive some states have made laws saying you cannot include these amounts in a complaint. Is this true?

There is a Florida statute that prohibits a complaint from listing the amount of punitive damages sought absent a showing of reasonableness. It is 768.72. Could that be what you are looking for?
