Let's start with solicitation of prostitution for one,  (Ohio Rev. Code § 2907.21).  While the communication to compel might not have to be verbal, it still would not give a person a right to walk up to someone and bring up that conversation subject.
So yes, a person, even a police officer does not have a right to simply walk up to someone and start any conversation they want therefore in conclusion, the subject matter of the conversation does matter.

Yes, they can mandate the break. The law in NY that requires breaks are minimums, not maximums. They would be within their right to require any break longer than the required breaks and more of them.

That surprised me since civil forfeiture has been in existence in GA with regard to drugs for years.  The legislature amended the code effective in 2015 to add a statute under the civil code (Title 9, Chapter 16).  It got a lot of online coverage at the time.  It may be in civil code but the forfeiture is tied directly to your criminal case....

You are in retail so I highly doubt you were working with a contract. Hence you were working under the doctrine of "Employment at will".

You can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all.  Telling a customer they are a jerk, no matter how true the statement, is a reason to terminate you.

I personally would terminate you because you don't seem to know what a paragraph is.

How much money does the HOA handle on a regular basis? Has a full account been done recently?  I ask because there could be other reasons she is trying to hide things.

You used to be an attorney in Virginia? Wow...Maybe brush up on your reading skills and read some books on positive thinking. I never mentioned I would "include violence and / or legal redress," but that is something Any rental agent would consider the consequences of scamming a potential disabled tenant and think twice--that's just objective.

I write better than someone who has the username payrollguy and works with numbers. is this how you introduce yourself to people? I never did anything to you. on the other hand the virginia "lawyer" initiated negative contact with me, insulting me by insuinating that i would threaten some violence on the property manager. it is obvious go ahead and read slowly don't type on a calculator while you read, he is asking for more documentation because obviously the property became available. I pride myself on writing well, I'm a published novelist. You on the other hand are an obvious asshat!

Better Negotiations In Employment Structured Settlements

The topic of the day is employment structured settlements. If you are an employment lawyer, whether you're a plaintiff, a defense lawyer or you're someone who is mired in litigation over wrongful termination, sexual harassment, failure to promote anything to do with an employment case. Then you really need to know about employment structured settlements. Because, to my amazement, there are not more structured settlements done in employment cases. I think a lot of it has to do really more with education then there are just tons of them, presented and then rejected. 1. When You Have An Employment Case
All of the damages are taxable. Admittedly some people try to shoehorn in a physical injury case, but let's assume everything is taxable. Because that's really the majority of cases, when you settle your case and you'll see you get a million dollars you get to pay your attorney and you've got to pay taxes. What you may end up with is really a very small percentage of what you thought you were going to get. It really doesn't increase the level of it doesn't provide a large level of satisfaction. By structuring your employment structured settlement, you can spread the taxes out over a period of time and provide yourself with a safe and secure income, for a period of time.

PayrollHRGuy reacted to pg1067 in Are police automatically called on near-drownings?
What does "automatically called" mean?  Are you asking if there's some sort of nationwide surveillance system that "automatically" summons the police anytime someone "nearly drowns"?  Whether a "near drowning" will result in anyone being called obviously depends on the facts and circumstances of the incident and whether anyone involved is inclined to call someone (police or otherwise).

This article, published by a Michigan law firm, seems to do a good job discussing Michigan shoplifting laws.

One additional point:  If you were shoplifting in 2011 and again in 2019, most folks are going to assume that you were also shoplifting during the intervening time and simply avoided getting caught.
