I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. During holidays and during my off hours, my employer expects me to be oncall and available for emergency calls. They offer us no compensation for oncall duty, nor do they even pay us OT when we are sent to calls during nonscheduled work hours. We are told, just work less hours the next day. I do field service repair work of computer servers and network equipment, and I live in/work in Massachusetts.
Basically wondering, can my employer expect me to be oncall 24/7, but offer no extra pay to me for it.
