need some advice

I am a manager for an Animal Hospital and need some advice. I have a Veterinarian who is pregnant and is paid salary+commission. I am not sure how this works when she goes on leave. All my other employees are hourly so they have used their vacation and sick days, then went with out pay for the rest of the leave. So I'm not sure how to handle this for a salary employee??????
