  1. I have been told by my lawyer that the professional service corporation can take upwards of three months to form, since the corporate name has to be approved by the NY state board of education, who meets periodically.
  2. I am an optometrist in the state of New York. I would like to create a S corporation, but am not sure if I am able to create a standard corporation or must use a professional service corporation. From what I have been told, the professional service corporation takes longer to file (3 months), and the name must be filed and approved by the board of education. For this reason of course I would prefer to create a standard corporation. If I am obligated to form the P.C. do I have to use the word optometry in the title or will eye care suffice?
