My husband is in title (his name only) on two of our 3 cars. The two cars in his name have loans. Due to his health he can no longer drive and his license will soon expire and will not be renewed. I hold the insurance on all three cars and my husband is no longer listed as a driver on any vehicle. Before his diagnosis he had numerous fender benders and tickets and the cost to insure him as a driver was too expensive. Both loans are current.
I'm concerned about not having my name on those titles yet holding the insurance.Is there any way to add my name to the title to these vehicles without having to refinance them?
My husband will sign whatever is necessary but I"m not sure if should contact the lenders. I'm sure their main concern is that the notes are current but don't want to be forced to insure someone who can't drive anyway.
