Question from Wallace0009Nov-13
On September 3, 2008 we had 20 inches of rain to fall cause by Hurricane Gustav  and  the gates were  closed to our lake causing massive flooding to homes.  We called the Lake Commission 4 to 5 days ahead of time asking to have them open the gate with no response from them.  The  Lake Commission was put  in place to watch the gate and open it where this would not happen but this was not the case. This committee did not do  their appointed duties and our Police Jury (which the Jury is elected to office to run our parish) will not call this commission to take responsibility for what they have  done to us. They are still causing harm to us by allowing them to stay in charge. We have as of today water that is next to our homes if a 5 to 6 inch rain will come it will go into some of our homes.  We have also called  our State Officials and they tell us they can not do anything for us that the Police Jury was elected and they can not touch them.  I would like to know where I could go to get help to remove the Police Jury and Lake Commission  from office.
