Question from malibugNov-4
How can one file for bankruptcy if you have no $.  A lawyer said it will cost my friend $1800.00 plus $100.00 for a class that she has to take in order to file but she has no $.  She is being sued by creditors.  Her ex fiance accrued charges for improvements on their house that she is no longer living in.  It is just her name on the credit cards.  Her name is on the mortgage and deed but he will not sell or give her money to file or pay off the bills.

Please if anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what sort of answer you're expecting.  Lawyers need to get paid just like anyone else, and the court requires a filing fee and a class.  The point of filing bankruptcy is to protect the income and assets that one does have from creditors.  If your friend really has no money, then why does she need to file BK?
