Question from bblaislawNov-7

I'm a commission-only car salesman.  After returning from my vacation, the company arbitrarily placed an A/R charge on my paycheck which wiped out my entire check.  Apparently, a customer I sold a car to 3 MONTHS AGO was unhappy and the company decides to take the car back!  We didn't sign any contract regarding A/R charges b/c companies don't typically take cars back after 3 months.  Is this legal?  Can they deduct money from my paycheck when they don't have any policies in place and without my consent?  I did my job and worked hard to sell to those people.  The managers signed off on the deal.  Why am I held responsible for their decision to unwind the deal?

While the state labor dept. may or may not help you out if this is purely a commission income deal, if the state will not help, you'll have to sue the employer for the money/breach of contract.
