my grandson was shot in the butt and it went through to his thigh and hit a main artery and he died. what could the charges be

With only those facts to go on, the charges could be anything from nothing all the way up to premeditated murder.

well I was told that 2 young men 19 or 20 wanted him to get in a car and he said no turned to walk away and was shot.

Like I said before this is my grandson and the info I give came from his mother which in turn came from an investiagater on the case. This took place in Louisiana but I'm in NY and I really would like to know what they could be charged with that is all

thank you that is what I wanted to know. I heard from a friend that if a person get shot below the waist that the person can't be charged with any murder because there is no vital organs below the waist is there any truth to this

I don't know who told you this, but that's just beyond silly.  First of all, as is apparent from your grandson's situation, one certainly can die from getting shot below the waist.  Second, just because one gets hit below the waist, that doesn't mean the shooter wasn't aiming higher.  Certainly, a defendant can argue that he/she had no intent to kill and that the shooting of the victim below the waist evidences that lack of intent.  However, just because someone makes an argument doesn't mean anyone will buy it.

and if I had of waited I would not be looking like a fool right now because the person has been charged with 2nd degree murder
