The maximum time for bringing this claim under the statute of limitations for medical malpractice claims in Florida is 4 years from the date the act of malpractice occurred. See Florida Statute section 95.11(4)(. Thus, since you say the event took place in 2006, you are now past the 4 years and too late to sue for this even if the doctor committed malpractice.
