Is it true that if you become soveriegn then you only have to go by the laws of the original constitution?

That's simply nonsense spouted by various anti-government groups. Sovereignty is a concept that is best described based on how it arose: the kings and queens of the feudal era were supreme, their word was law and no one had authority over them or could regulate what they did. They answered to no one but themselves (and God, to the extent you believe in God).  Everyone else but the king or queen answered ultimately to the king or queen. In our law, the federal and state governments take the place of the king and are considered the sovereigns. You are subject to the federal, state, and local laws that exist for where you are located. There is no way to free yourself from being subject to those laws and become, in essence, the king or queen, answerable to no one but yourself. That's obvious, because if you could, then you'd not be subject to any laws and could rape, murder, kidnap, steal, and do anything else you wanted with impunity. Of course, that's not the case.
