I had a misdemeanor drug possession charge in 2006, it was a first offense. I completed all court orderd criteria, and a DC court Judge signed the order of expungement in 2008. I checked to make sure the record was closed on 9/2012, but found the record opened in all data bases. Upon informing CJIS, the office closed the record one week later. My question concerns, can I apply for federal employment, and if so, will I need to disclose my expunged record for background check purposes? Because I have recently graduated from college with my MBA, and need a job ASAP. I would appreciate the help

An expunged record does not mean it ceased to exist, especially with regard to the federal government. You will have to disclose it in any application for government employment or licensing.
