I am a landlord who rents both apts of a two family house in brooklyn ny .I have decided to sell the house.Neither tenant has a lease at the moment.My question is how long do they legally have before they must vacate?

What makes you think your tenants have any obligation to vacate?

They have until the end of the notice to terminate tenancy which you provide them IAW your state law.
