Was ticketed because I "slowed down but failed to stop at posted stop sign". My contention is that I did stop. However, additionally, on the ticket, it is checked off that I am a male (sorry, been a female for 64 years!!). Does that invalidate the ticket in any way?

Minor clerical errors are just that and have no effect on the validity of the ticket.  Whether you are male or female has no bearing on whether or not you failed to stop at the sign  which is what you were apparently ticketed for.   iConsult local counsel.
